5 questions to Lara Hubmann about the Cooperation with Zimmer & Kreim

Why did Linxfour decide to cooperate with Zimmer&Kreim?

Zimmer&Kreim is a typical traditional German medium-sized machine manufacturer which stands for the high-quality standards in its segment. With Linxfour's pay-per-use financing, we have set ourselves the goal to also support SME companies in keeping their competitive advantage over low-cost suppliers. Zimmer&Kreim is not only an innovation leader for vertical eroding machines (EDM machines), but also a perfect example of a typical SME in the mechanical and engineering sector and serves as a role model for other OEMs, which want to offer pay-per-use models in the future.

Why exactly is Zimmer&Kreim a perfect partner for the pay-per-use model?

As a pioneer in vertical eroding machines (EDM machines) and the automation these machines, Zimmer&Kreim is striving for similar goals as Linxfour: to build new business models based on data. To reinforce this approach, Zimmer&Kreim has already completed its first pay-per-use projects independently, but now wants to take the next step and offer pay-per-use financing models on a broader scale - Linxfour enables Zimmer&Kreim to make this step without increasing their risk.

The cooperation creates a win-win situation for both companies. What are the key factors behind this?

In addition to the advantages that Zimmer&Kreim no longer has to finance pay-per-use through its own balance sheet and equity, the OEM has a reliable partner with Linxfour, that handles all pay-per-use-related activities. As a result, Zimmer&Kreim can focus fully on its core competencies, the manufacturing of vertical eroding machines (EDM machines), as well as on the maintenance of these machines, to provide machine users with even higher availability of their equipment. In addition, Zimmer&Kreim now has now the opportunity to tap into new customer segments that could not be served before. Pay-per-use offers both Zimmer&Kreim and the machine users maximum flexibility, close to the production capacity. On the other side, Linxfour profits from new market insights and new customers.

What is the joint vision of Zimmer&Kreim and Linxfour?

Both Zimmer&Kreim and Linxfour have set themselves the goal of looking at customers from a full-service perspective, and that's where pay-per-use plays an important role. Financing through Linxfour not only keeps the balance sheet light and transfers the utilization risk of the equipment, it also provides a perfectly serviced machine pool to ensure maximum capacity and uptime of the equipment. Together with Zimmer&Kreim, we would like to offer the customer an " all-inclusive" package for vertical eroding machines (EDM machines), so that the machine user can take care of his core business. Furthermore, both sides want to enter into new markets and release new customer potentials.

Why is Linxfour convinced that the pay-per-use model with Zimmer&Kreim will be successful?

In Zimmer&Kreim, we have found a partner who understood the potential of pay-per-use very early on. So, we were able to build up a lot of know-how around the whole topic together with Zimmer&Kreim over the last year, which has made the collaboration even more exciting and productive for both sides. This knowledge now gives us both a joint competitive advantage in the market.
